September 29 – Book talk with Megan Buskey, author of Ukraine Is Not Dead Yet: A Family Story of Exile and Return, which chronicles her family’s experience in Ukraine during and after World War II and their emigration to Cleveland from the Soviet Union during the Brezhnev era. Brigid O’Keeffe (Brooklyn College, CUNY), will serve as a discussant. This will be a hybrid event at the Graduate Center, CUNY, and online via Zoom.

October 27 – Yana Prymachenko (Princeton University and Institute of History of Ukraine, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine) shares a new comparative analysis of Soviet and Russian memory culture of the “Great Victory”.
November 17: Jane Sugarman (Graduate Center, CUNY) presents new research on musical activism in post-war Kosova.
December 8: Nicholas Boston (Lehman College, CUNY) presents new research on “The Amorous Migrant: Polish Gay Men in the United Kingdom, 2004-2020“. This will be a hybrid event, co-organized with the Gender and Transformation Workshop, at the History Program, room 5112, Graduate Center, CUNY, and online via Zoom, with reception to follow.
